Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue at a Glance
A Distinct Identity
Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. From the beginning, our Animal Rescue Service realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue. We work closely with our local City Pound to save animals from euthanasia. So far all adoptable animals have been saved! Please consider volunteering your time or donating much needed funds to the animals of Mason County Texas, they need you!

Tippy

Tippy
Tippy was so scared and nervous when Second Chance rescued her, but once she realized she is now safe, Tippy became a very happy girl. She is a terrier mix, about 2-years old, and weighs a sweet 30 pounds. We have yet to hear her bark! SC volunteers took her for a full vet evaluation because she was acting extra nervous and having a hard time sitting and going up and down steps. X-rays revealed normal bone structure, and the vet prescribed Gabapentin for nerve pain. Now Tippy can sit, go up and down steps, and roll over for a belly rub with ease. Tippy is about the happiest dog you will ever meet.

Lula Belle
Lula Belle isn’t interested in taking a treat…she would much rather be petted. After Lula Belle’s owner passed-away, she became a Second Chance Rescue. It is so easy to see Lula Belle desperately wants a real home. She is a Husky mix and oh my what a sweetheart she is! Lula Belle is a favorite of the Second Chance dog-walking-volunteers who range from age 7 to 70-plus. All say she is great on a leash and very gentle. Lula Belle is about three years old and is up to date on all of her vet work. We think she will be a super companion. Lula Belle is a great size too, weighing only 40 pounds!
