Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue at a Glance

A Distinct Identity

Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. From the beginning, our Animal Rescue Service realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue. We work closely with our local City Pound to save animals from euthanasia. So far all adoptable animals have been saved! Please consider volunteering your time or donating much needed funds to the animals of Mason County Texas, they need you!

Our rescue efforts rely on generous donations from people like yourself.  All donations are tax deductible.  The money we raise goes towards the medical expenses and care of the dogs and cats we rescue.

Maya

Lab Mix

Maya is so sweet our volunteers call her Maya Honey Pie. Friendly, affectionate, happy, and eager to please, Maya is also beautiful with her shiny black fur and sparkling brown eyes. She loves pets and hugs…the more the better. Maya is a bit on the small side, she is good on a leash and enjoys walking. She enjoys greeting the neighbor's dog, Big Blu.

Her Second Chance volunteer bets that with more training and lots of loving she could be a wonderful family member.

This young and happy Lab mix is located in Mason, Texas.

Ginger

Staffy!

Ginger is a dainty young lady, who is about 1 year old. She is a very friendly Staffy with soulful golden eyes who is a little shy at first.

Ginger is athletic, enjoys walking, and is doing well with her leash training. Correction…she LOVES walking. If someone is looking for a walking companion, look no further.

And she is smart and very trainable.

We believe Ginger will bond deeply with someone who provides her with a secure and stable home environment. (Or in dog terms, a forever home!) We think she would do best with a single person or a couple. (Ginger wants to remind everyone she LOVES walking…)

Smart. Pretty. Loyal. That’s Ginger!

Ace

Husky Mix

Ace is a handsome, happy Husky mix! We guess he’s a Husky mix because of his beautiful blue eyes. But he could be part German Shepard, too. He likes water and splashes around in rain puddles…so he might be part duck. He isn’t too big, just the right size. (But bigger than a duck.)

Ace is young, energetic, funny, and looking for a family that loves to play. Ace makes friends easily with adults, kids, and other happy dogs.

We are learning more about him every day. He is eager to please. Ace walks well on a leash, especially for a young fellow, and knows basic commands. You can meet Ace in Mason, Texas where you look into his happy blue eyes.

Trigger

Catahoula

Meet Trigger. He is one cool guy. Look at those eyes!

He came into our local pound and now he is with Second Chance. His owners had to move and could not take him along. Trigger is about 5 years old with an unbelievably calm disposition. He is good with other dogs. Trigger is food motivated which is always a good thing when it comes to more training!

One of our Second Chance volunteers claims he talks. Okay, more like very quiet dog babble. She has observed this a number of times, the latest was when she pickup Trigger from a veterinary appointment. She thought Trigger said “Oh I am happy to see you. I am so glad you came for me, I missed you. “ The other volunteer thinks Trigger was probably saying “Please get me out of here!”

This nice boy walks beautifully on a leash and truly enjoys his walks! A good day for Trigger would include a shady spot to watch the world go by. Would you like to meet Mr. Trigger?
