Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue is a non profit 501c(3) that was established in 2012.
Our Mission Statement: To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and stray animal control, facilitate a spay and neuter program, prevent abandonment of animals and provide public education in animal care, behavior and humane treatment of animals.

Free Spay/Neuter Program
Second Chance offers a free spay/neuter program for income eligible pet owners of Mason county.
Pet Food Bank
Helping The Community
Second Chance works with our local food bank to provide pet food for members of the community who are needing assistance.
Animal Rescue and Care
One at a Time
Second Chance works closely with our local animal control officers and members in the community. All our our animals are spayed & neutered, and given appropriate veterinary care.

A Distinct Identity
Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. From the beginning, our Animal Rescue Service realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Second Chance - Mason Animal Rescue. We work closely with our local City Pound to save animals from euthanasia. So far all adoptable animals have been saved! Please consider volunteering your time or donating much needed funds to the animals of Mason County Texas, they need you!

Yellow Lab/mix
Two brothers were found roaming the streets together, but without their humans. It is hard to say what happened to them in their past, but NOW they are in good hands and ready to find a loving home. Oliver is below!
Meet Oscar! This lab mix is a fun pup who loves to play and cuddle. He is quite fond of treats so he should be pretty easy to train and is ready for the journey to become a perfect new family member. He is about 7 months young and weighs 31 pounds. He is all legs and ears, and 100% ready to steal your couch, your heart, and possibly your shoes. All vet work has been completed and he and his brother Oliver are available for meet and greets. They are located in Mason Texas. It would be great to see them adopted together but that is not something we are expecting, unless of course you have room in your life for two wonderful boys who love each other!

Yellow Lab/mix
Meet Oliver, weighing in at 28.7 pounds. This lab mix is a quiet pup who is a little unsure right now. Once he starts feeling more comfortable he has all of the makings to be a super companion dog. He is about 7 months young and 100% ready to steal your heart! Oliver is very cute and fun to have around. All vet work has been completed and he and his brother Oscar are available for meet and greets. They are located in Mason Texas. It would be great to see he and his brother Oscar adopted together but that is not something we are expecting, unless of course you have room in your life for two wonderful boys who love each other!

Rhea was adopted by a super family right here in Mason. We are so happy for Rhea and her new family, she is going to make them soo happy!

She is soo happy in Fredericksburg Texas. She has a young boy to hang out with and they adore each other. Very sweet!!

Gemini is soo lucky.

He was adopted by WooFDriver (Bill Hellman)
And now he gets to pull "sleds"~On wheels~ but pulling all the same. Gemini is now in Maryland livin the life we would have hoped for him, but would not have imagined in a million years! He gets to travel around with his sisters and pull his new driver all around on some awesome trails and then sometimes not on trails at all. These adventures are documented and posted on all the social media channels.
